The global cement industry is moving towards carbon neutrality with ambitious roadmaps. Following the European Union initiative to put in place a carbon Emission Trading System (ETS), several countries or regions in the world are in motion to define ETS or boarder tax schemes to cut CO2 emissions. This is not without consequences with regards to cement performance and cement plant operations.

CHRYSO offers innovative additives and close support to cement producers for reducing clinker content in cement, energy consumption and to mitigate alternative fuel impact on cement performance.

THE CEMENT INDUSTRY IS FULLY INVOLVED IN THE REDUCTION OF CEMENT CO2 FOOTPRINT

CO2 emissions have already been reduced by 30% since 1990 but, there is still room for lowering cement carbon footprint in accordance with cement quality Standards.

However, cement plants have reached such high level of optimization that it is increasingly challenging to reduce further clinker content.

CHRYSO provides solutions to achieve further optimization leading to substantial CO2 and cost savings for cement producers.

ACCELERATE CO2 EMISSIONS REDUCTION WITH LOW CARBON CEMENTS

New cements with lower carbon impact or the use of alternative SCM such as calcined clay require to overtake higher technical and operational challenges. The evolution of Standards (ie. EN NF 197-5 in Europe for CEM II/C-M and CEM VI) is one of the key success factors in the industry's carbon neutral trajectory.

CHRYSO is working closely with cement producers to design high performance solutions taking into consideration cement reactivity, production modes and process characteristics.

Preserving our natural resources is essential to CHRYSO.

Energy savings of the grinding workshop are possible by optimizing the process efficiency and productivity.

The use of locally available and low-quality mineral additions such as pond fly ashes, phosphogypsum, recycled crusched concrete fines contribute to lower environmental and cost impacts.

Because water is the most valuable resource, reducing water consumption either at concrete or cement stage is important. Injection of water in vertical roller mills can be reduced by improving mill stability.
