Saint-Gobain acquires Xypex, a leader in high value-added waterproofing solutions

Saint-Gobain has completed the acquisition of Xypex, a global leader in crystalline waterproofing admixtures and coatings, headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.

Xypex has established itself as the reference brand in crystalline waterproofing solutions, serving customers in more than 100 countries, with sales of C$110 million expected in 2026. The company has strong positions in infrastructure and specification-driven construction markets across North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

The acquisition, announced on July 6, 2026, strengthens Saint-Gobain’s construction chemicals platform by adding a highly differentiated and complementary technology to its existing waterproofing solutions portfolio, which includes membranes (GCP Preprufe, FOSROC Proofex), liquid-applied systems (Stirling Lloyd Eliminator, GCP Silcor), injections and repair technologies.

Crystalline waterproofing enhances the durability and service life of concrete structures, helping extend asset life and reduce maintenance requirements, either as a standalone solution or in combination with membrane systems.
