CHRYSO®ICARE NEW PATENT PENDING ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGY ENABLING A LOWER CEMENT CARBON FOOTPRINT

9 July 20

CHRYSO has just launched a disruptive patent pending technology developed by its researchers to provide extra-activation to cement. Incorporating the most advanced expertise in cement chemistry and considering process configurations, CHRYSO®ICARE allows to reach full activation potential. This exclusive technology boosts the reactivity of cement, creating a synergy effect between chemical and mechanical activation to further increase cement strengths at all ages while optimizing the clinker factor. CHRYSO®ICARE additives provide additional levers for cement manufacturers to reduce energy and production costs, as well as the CO2 footprint of cement.

AN INNOVATION TO ADDRESS INCREASED TECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES OF THE CEMENT INDUSTRY

CHRYSO®ICARE is a new patent pending technology that provides extra strength enhancement performance to cement manufacturers to reduce clinker factor and cement CO2 footprint. Companies can use this technology to decrease energy and production costs.
CHRYSO®ICARE empowers cement reactivity, creating a synergy effect between chemical and mechanical activation to further increase cement strengths at all ages.
Whatever cement grinding process design and limitations, the technology can overcome bottlenecks with better control on cement powder transport along the different process stages. This will considerably help businesses produce high quality cement whilst reducing production costs.
Thanks to CHRYSO®ICARE, increased compressive strengths can be converted into clinker factor reduction, increasing the SCM (Supplementary Cementitious Materials) content in cement, thereby reducing CO2 emissions.
The combined action of Clinker factor reduction together with improved grinding efficiency results in substantial reduction in energy consumption.

TWO NEXT GENERATION STRENGTH ENHANCER RANGES TO REACH UNEQUALLED PERFORMANCE

CHRYSO®ICARE technology has resulted in 2 new strength enhancer ranges with a full set of products, overcoming process challenges: CHRYSO®ICARE VRM (Vertical Roller Mill) and CHRYSO®ICARE CP (Challenging Processes).
• CHRYSO®ICARE VRM additives deliver cement performance in Vertical Roller Mills through better process stability. Direct benefits are improved cement quality and higher compressive strengths at all ages which allowing for an increased level of SCM.
• CHRYSO®ICARE CP additives overtakes process limitations to maximise cement activation potential. The result is an improved cement fineness and particle size distribution. At different stages of the ball mill process, a significant increase in productivity is achieved. Better cement powder transport properties allows the plant to maintain high productivity whilst reducing maintenance costs.

PROVIDING TAILOR-MADE SOLUTIONS THANKS TO A NEW PROCESS DIAGNOSIS

Developed by CHRYSO’s technical experts, CHRYSO®ICARE DIAGNOSIS aims at maximizing the benefits of CHRYSO®ICARE Technology for each plant, according to a prior on-field process assessment and customer needs evaluation. Considering the mill design, process sensitivity, cement composition and the targeted performance, tailor-made additives will be designed accordingly to provide Cement manufacturers with the optimal cost/performance solutions.

CHRYSO is pleased to offer CHRYSO®ICARE disruptive technology to support cement manufacturers in achieving their goals and to partner with them in the deployment of the latest strength enhancement advances.
Through CHRYSO®ICARE, CHRYSO expands its product portfolio dedicated to reduce the clinker factor, and will continue to support cement manufacturers in their efforts to reduce CO2 emissions further.
